How to locate a Ferret-Knowledgeable Veterinarian
Not all veterinarians treat ferrets. Selecting a veterinary expert who knows ferrets is extremely important. Ferrets are categorized as "small animals" or "exotics". Ferret medicine is often considered a Specialty area within the practice of veterinary medicine. It is, therefore, important to locate a veterinary professional who knows ferrets and feels comfortable treating them. Please see the AFO LISTINGS FOR FERRET VETERINARIANS.
